The Las Vegas Raiders are heading into a new era under Pete Carroll as they look to return to becoming a competitive team. However, they need more stud players to build around the likes of Maxx Crosby if they are to shed their bottom scraper tag.

The problem for a standout player such as Crosby is that he has been a part of that losing culture for six seasons. At age 27, he would think deeply about his current situation and maybe look for a way out. Because all he wants is to win and he even hoped former head coach Antonio Pierce would get him there.

But that did not work out and Pierce was fired after he lost the locker room. That placed further stress on Maxx Crosby as rumors started heating up that he wanted to leave to join a contender. He had two years left on his contract, but it was not a major deterrent in case a team wanted to trade for him. Then this news dropped earlier today.

The Raiders are making star edge Maxx Crosby the highest-paid non-QB in the NFL. It’s a 3-year deal worth $106.5M with $91.5M guaranteed.

Maxx Crosby reaffirms his stand with Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders hired Pete Carroll to instill a winning culture. With minority owner Tom Brady’s support behind this decision, Maxx Crosby decided it was better to stay. After the Insider’s announced his extension, the 4-time Pro Bowler posted this message on X.

His former teammate Josh Jacobs left the Raiders in the previous offseason. He made it clear he did not want to be a part of a perennially losing culture. All these conversations probably reached the ears of the pass rusher as rumors of a possible departure continued.

There was even a time when some suggested he should join the Kansas City Chiefs to win a title. He dismissed that suggestion, clarifying that he was not going to take the easy path. His latest message now puts to rest all the rumors off him wanting to leave the team.
