- Maxx Crosby's trade to the Baltimore Ravens was canceled after he failed a physical.
- The Ravens will retain their two first-round picks as a result of the trade backing out.
- The Dallas Cowboys are not going to engage in trade discussions for Maxx Crosby.
Maxx Crosby finally got his wish of a move out of the Las Vegas Raiders when the Baltimore Ravens offered them two first-round picks for the star pass rusher.
Superstar QB Lamar Jackson and the Ravens fans were ecstatic about getting their hands on one of the hardest-working and most motivated players in the NFL, who they knew would wreak havoc on opposing teams and power them to a Super Bowl.
The deal was also instrumental in shaping this NFL offseason, as several free agent deals and trades happened based on where the 28-year-old was headed. Now the deal is off the table, after the Ravens backed out of the trade.
The Baltimore Ravens have backed out of our trade agreement for Maxx Crosby. We will have no further comment at this time.
Raiders’ statement following the decision
This was all that came out of the Las Vegas Raiders’ camp. With no further news, not only is the franchise back to square one with arguably their best player from the last several years still on their books.

But they are also in flux as they just signed two young pass rushers to take Crosby’s place in the lineup. In fact, this retracted trade could also have an impact on the rest of the deals that have been signed over the past couple of days.
There is no doubt that the Michigan native wants out of the Raiders after openly expressing his frustrations with how Tom Brady and Mark Davis have run the organization. It is just that the franchise will now be in a bad spot.
Ravens cancelled trade after Maxx Crosby failed his physical
Within minutes of this news going viral, fans and analysts were trying to figure out why the Ravens backed out of the trade to bring in Maxx Crosby.

The Ravens get their first round picks back.
At the time of the trade, many felt that the DMV-based franchise had overpaid for a player who would turn 29 before the 2026 season started. Now, they get both their first-round picks back and can rethink their strategy to help Lamar Jackson.
At the same time, the Raiders will now be forced to take a lesser deal for Maxx Crosby, considering all details of this fallout are now public. Now, the attention shifts to the Dallas Cowboys, where Jerry Jones could still make a play.
Jerry Jones not interested anymore in Maxx Crosby
When the Las Vegas Raiders were fielding trade calls for Maxx Crosby, Jerry Jones was also in the mix. However, the Sin City-based franchise did not like the Cowboys’ offer of a first-round and a second-round pick.

They preferred the two first-round picks the Ravens offered. That decision may have also played a hand in the Cowboys missing out on a chance to sign two young former Georgia Bulldogs pass rushers to the Raiders, as the two might have been excited about the Raiders’ rebuild.

In the meantime, the billionaire traded for Rashan Gary and also worked out ways to create cap space. Now, Jones might be back on the table for another shot at Maxx Crosby, this time with the ball in his hands.
Can confirm. A team source tells me “we moved on with Rashan Gary, etc” https://t.co/KI2OVWPyTy

However, it seems the owner-cum-GM is not going to go after the Raiders’ pass rusher despite having the chance of getting him on a discount. This decision could complicate Crosby’s future.
