France’s young lad Kylian Mbappe openly said this is why he is here, to win the Champions League with PSG. The 21-year old said this after this club’s win over RB Leipzig in the semis of the competition. The team will go head to head with the German giants Bayern Munich for the title. Mbappe also reached the last four stage with his former club Monaco in 2017 before becoming a big-money signing to the Ligue 1 champions.
All the runs Mbappe has taken and the chances he has created after recovering from the latest ankle injury have looked absolutely stunning. The French club has performed exceptionally in the last few matches. Addressing the media on Saturday, Mbappe quoted: “This is exactly the reason why I am here. I always said I wanted to write the history of French football. I have another opportunity to that tomorrow.”
21-year old Kylian Mbappe is all pumped up for final
“I have always dreamed of facing the best players. You want to face and beat the best. We hope to go back to Paris with the cup. It’s the biggest club competition.” Mbappe also described the feeling of playing at this stage of the competition with the fans’ support. “We would have wanted the fans here but we know they will be supporting us. It’s still a Champions League final. It’s a very special year.”
He was happy for the Sunday clash with a relaxed mood and was glad that he had fully recovered from the injury he got during the Ligue 1 final. “I think the games have helped me prepare from the final. Munich is a great team but every team has flaws. We know they don’t like to change the game. We look forward to playing tomorrow.” Thomas Tuchel has been under the scrutiny bar this season with many flaws but will have a chance to gain all the love by winning the UCL.
The former Borussia manager had some bad comments this season and Mbappe readily addressed this as well. “I heard myself, and I know a lot of people were hearing things about the coach, about him not being able to manage the stars. “There were some exceptions during the season, it can happen in every team, but we really trust him and will play for him.
Mbappe and the whole PSG team will be looking to give a tough fight to their German opposition and will be looking to win the Champions League for the first time in their 50-year old legacy.
