CM Punk and Drew McIntyre finally ended their intense rivalry at Bad Blood. Their feud had become deeply personal, culminating in one of WWE’s most brutal match types, Hell in a Cell. The match was filled with brutal spots, as neither competitor held anything back.

The Straight Edge Superstar prevailed inside Hell in a Cell and put down Drew McIntyre for a decisive three-count after a GTS. He exited the cell after the match, his eyes still full of hatred and his body pumping with adrenaline. After walking a few steps down the ramp, Punk collapsed to the ground. Match officials Daphanie LaShaunn and Shawn Bennett came rushing down to check on the superstar and help him up. Raw GM Adam Pearce also came running down the ramp with medical assistance by his side.

Punk initially refused help from medical professionals, with Michael Cole pointing out that he was a proud man and wanted to walk out on his own. The Voice of the Voiceless told Pearce that he just wanted to call his wife and get home. However, the 45-year-old looked in bad shape, and the medical professionals put an oxygen mask on him before he threw it away.

Punk had claimed in an earlier interview that the Cell had begun to feel like a toy. He promised to bring back the intensity to Hell in a Cell, and it is safe to say that he and Drew McIntyre delivered. As Michael Cole rightly said throughout the match, one is never the same after he competes inside Hell in a Cell. Their body never fully recovers from the brutal match, and their career is forever altered.

Living Color refused to re-master Cult of Personality unless CM Punk used it for his entrance

Since 2011, “Cult of Personality” has been synonymous with CM Punk, becoming one of the most iconic wrestling entrance themes of all time, always popping the crowd. However, his current entrance features a remastered version of the song that he used before his departure from WWE. Recently, the “Voice of the Voiceless” shared an interesting story involving the band behind the track, Living Colour.

Speaking on No-Contest Wrestling, the Second City Saint revealed that Living Color had called him after plans for his return were in motion. The band is still close to the former WWE Champion. Thus, they decided to give him a call after WWE asked them to re-master the song. The band also claimed that they would not be doing so unless it was for Punk.

Once all that stuff started happening, I’m tight with the band, so they’re calling me going, ‘Hey, they’re trying to license the song again. If this isn’t for you, it’s a hard no.’ And I was like, I didn’t want to say anything so I kind of told him it was for me without saying. I was like, ‘Maybe you should just let it happen.’

Without revealing any details, Punk told them to go ahead with the plan. He also told them that the payment for the remastering would go directly to the band and not their record label. Living Color would then go on to publish a remastered version of the song a day before Survivor Series when the former AEW World Champion would make his return to WWE.
