The former featherweight title contender Megan Anderson faced the champion Amanda “The Lioness” Nunes at UFC 259 and lost the fight in the very first round.

After the fight, she revealed that it was her last fight under the contract and now she is a free agent. This conversation was held between her and MMA Fighting on Tuesday, Anderson holds a 3-3 record after joining the UFC, she lost her first two out of three fights in UFC which includes a lopsided loss against Holly Holm.

She is also a former Invicta champion and her resume is enough for to her to land a decent deal.

Anderson also said that UFC is planning to scrap the entire featherweight division but several sources claim that this information is not correct. Dana White clearly said that as long as Amanda Nunes is willing to defend her title at featherweight the division isn’t going anywhere.

Nunes won the featherweight title after defeating Cris Cyborg and she is currently 3-0 in the division, and it doesn’t look like anyone is going to even give her a challenge let alone defeat her anytime soon.
