MS Dhoni was involved in an entertaining knock at the Ekana Stadium as he smacked 28* off 9 in the first innings against Lucknow Super Giants. Coming in to bat in the 18th over, the former Indian captain put up a great show for the Lucknow crowd. 

MS Dhoni stepped on the field in the 18th over after Moeen Ali was dismissed. As he walked in, the crowd cheered as loudly as they could to welcome the former Indian captain. The Star Sports Decibel meter reached up to 124 DB. Quinton de Kock’s wife, Sasha de Kock, was given a warning on her smartwatch regarding the loud crowd.

The show started in the 19th over, where he hit Mohsin Khan for a four and a six in the first two balls of the over. Dhoni then followed that with 16 runs in the final over, with one six and two boundaries. 

The innings saw the 42-year-old playing an innovative shot, as he shuffled to the off side and guided the ball over KL Rahul’s head for a six. He also hit a 101-meter long six in the final over.

Fans left entertained by MS Dhoni masterclass 

Many fans enjoyed the MS Dhoni cameo and heavily praised the former Indian captain for his clean hitting. Some claimed the 42-year-old should return to the Indian team due to his form, while others decided to call him the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time).
