Memphis Grizzlies finally get their first win of the season against the biggest the Brooklyn Nets 116-11 in OverTime. With both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving sitting out in this game, the Nets have suffered their 2nd consecutive defeat of the season. However, the only positive to take from this game for the Nets was the consistent ability showcased by Caris LeVert who scored 28 points and 11 assists. With just an extra push required for the Nets, one would suggest one of their marquee duos to play in the game would’ve made the essential difference.

Talking about the Grizzlies, their marquee player JA Morant had to pulled off the court on a wheelchair after the player sprained his left ankle. Although the X-ray suggested that there is no fracture. But he will be expected to get an MRI scan as early as possible. But with JA Morant out, Grizzlies did not let the spirit die, with Kyle Anderson and Dillion Brooks taking charge. Anderson scored 28, whereas Brooks scored 24 points.

The former Rookie of the year, JA Morant has got to an impressive start in the first 2 games of the season with an average over 36 points. The good news being for the Grizzlies fans that midway through the fourth quarter, Morant returned to the Grizzlies’ bench wearing a protective boot on his left leg. He limped into the team’s huddle during timeouts and doled out high-fives to his teammates.

The score of 28 was Kyle Anderson’s career high. Given that he could perform at the same ability, Grizzlies could hold onto and hopefully stretch their winning streak. As the Grizzlies meet the Eastern Conference giants, Boston Celtics next, JA Morant absence could be the key. But given this performance from the entire roster of the Grizzlies, they surely do know how to perform without him.
