Tokyo Olympics: Men’s Discus throw Finals Live stream, Preview and prediction

The world’s 12 best throwers will line up at the Olympic Stadium in a bid to clinch glory as they line up for the Men’s Discus Throw Final. After qualification Groups A and B, the usual suspects have made it to the final, and are within touching distance of glory.

World No.1 and Gold medal Daniel Stahl needed just one throw to qualify for the final, as his opening throw on Friday came at 66.12m and it was enough to move him past the qualification mark for Saturday’s final. Lithuanian ace Andrius Gudzius, the 2017 world champion, came in second at 65.94 while World No.2 and Slovenian star Kristjan Ceh came third overall with a throw of 65.45.

Australia’s Matthew Denny also qualified for the finals, after a nervous 24-hour wait. The 25-year-old was forced into isolation along with other members of the track and field team after Sam Kendricks tested positive. Nonetheless, he threw 65.13, to qualify for the finals.

Stahl will be the favorite to finish at the top of the podium, while the likes of Lukas Weisshaidinger will put up a stern test, who threw 64.77 in qualification. The Austrian ranked No.3 in the world, threw a season-best  69.04 will also be one of the competitors for a medal. Sam Mattis threw his season-best 63.74 in qualification, while Mauricio Ortega also made it to the final 12.
