“I’ve got mixed feelings,” Mercedes Mone not in favor of recent WWE change hoping it’s rectified when Raw moves to Netflix
Mercedes Mone isn't the biggest fan of WWE Raw being a two-hour show heading into next year's $5 billion worth Netflix deal.

WWE’s longest-running episodic television show, viz., Monday Night Raw, will premiere on Netflix in January 2025. Although the move is touted to be a game changer, a recent tweak in the show’s runtime has AEW star Mercedes Mone on tenterhooks. As the fans know, WWE recently announced that Raw will have its third hour cut to revert to being a two-hour show beginning October 7.
Initially, it was believed that this change would only last until the red brand stays on the USA Network, and then it’d move back to three hours once Raw gets on Netflix. However, reports suggest that WWE hasn’t decided on it yet, which circles the conversation back to Mercedes Mone. Expressing her concerns on Mone Mag, the reigning AEW TBS Champion said she has some mixed feelings about Raw dropping the third hour.
The 32-year-old affirmed that she had always been in favor of Raw having those extra 60 minutes. Not only does it offer more entertainment for the fans, but it also allows more superstars to be featured on television. Mone stressed how losing that third hour could result in fewer opportunities for the roster, especially women.
Now, let’s talk RAW. Word is that it's dropping from 3 hours to 2, and honestly, I’ve got mixed feelings about it. I’ve always loved having that extra hour because it gives more performers a chance to shine.Mercedes Mone via Mone Mag
The erstwhile Sasha Banks sees Raw’s switch to Netflix as the silver lining, hoping it’d enable WWE to have their talent showcased more effectively. It would be interesting to see if Raw does indeed go back to three hours when it debuts on the streaming platform next year.
WWE CCO Triple H had previously confirmed that Raw will not face any censoring issues on Netflix. Does that mean the verbiage would also be loosened up? It might, but WWE HOF’er Eric Bischoff has already asked the company to be wary of dropping too many F-bombs here and there.
How Mercedes Mone conceded a major opportunity to WWE
It appears like Mercedes Mone’s naivety cost her in the long run. What could’ve been a massive collab with Megan Thee Stallion didn’t exactly pan out the way Mone would’ve liked. For the unversed, earlier this year, before debuting in AEW, The CEO met Thee Stallion at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards show.
That ensued a spree of talks between them, with both sides working to find common ground on a partnership. However, before they could reach an agreement, WWE chimed in and swayed the 29-year-old rapper away from Mercedes, as implied by the Mandalorian actress in her recent edition of Mone Mag.
Stallion’s new release, Neva Play ft. RM of BTS, was unveiled as the theme song of SmackDown last week. Mone has admitted that she should’ve kept her mouth shut about her previous meet with Megan in March.
