Rumors of Shane McMahon possibly joining AEW have gained a lot of steam over the past couple of weeks or so. After Forbidden Door, PWInsider reported that McMahon ran into Mercedes Mone at the LaGuardia airport in New York. As per the report, the pair did have a conversation about the Tony Khan-led promotion. Following her victory at the PPV, the AEW TBS Champion confirmed that she met McMahon.
Speaking about it in her newsletter, Mone called it fate to meet the 54-year-old just after becoming a double champion. The CEO mentioned that she had always “loved” Shane during her time in WWE.
