Mercedes Moné recently launched a weekly newsletter in which she shares her stories and other personal information. In the latest edition, the former WWE Superstar revealed how Tony Khan reacted to her brother Joshua’s bad health. The AEW CEO immediately said that he would help in whatever way he could.
Mercedes Moné has revealed in the past that her brother suffers from autism. Her family shifted a lot during their childhood to find appropriate schools and hospitals for Joshua. When his health recently took a hit, Khan asked the former WWE Women’s Champion to join him on his private jet to Jacksonville. He made it a point to stop in Orlando on the way to visit her brother.
The 32-year-old disclosed that she had tears in her eyes while writing this edition of her newsletter. She was highly grateful to be working at AEW. She claimed that AEW was fortunate as the company had a leader whose motto was ‘family first.’

While Tony Khan has often been criticized for his allegedly poor leadership and management skills, there is no doubt that he cares for the talent at his company. This recent anecdote by the newest major AEW signee showcased how the AEW president went above and beyond to help out her family.
Mercedes Moné will face Stephanie Vaquer in a Title for Title match at Forbidden Door
Mercedes Moné recently won the TBS Championship at Double or Nothing. The May 29th episode of Dynamite confirmed that she will defend her title against CMLL star Stephanie Vaquer at Forbidden Door. However, she would first have to defend her championship against Vaquer’s tag team partner, Zeuxis.
It was later announced that the TBS Championship would not be the only title on the line. The female superstars will battle it out in a title-for-title match, where Vaquer’s NJPW Strong Women’s Championship will also be on the line.
The former WWE star has competed for the NJPW Strong Championship before. She even made it to the finals of the tournament held to crown the inaugural champion. She was supposed to win the match and the title. However, she suffered an injury during the match, called an audible, and Willow Nightingale was instead declared the winner at Resurgence.
