Mercedes Mone has certainly been a controversial figure ever since she debuted in AEW. While she was incredibly loved as Sasha Banks in WWE, many wrestling fans have turned on her since. A fan recently sent her a hate comment, and the 32-year-old did not hold back with her response.
Mone was recently live on her TikTok account. A fan commented on the stream, saying that her downfall needed to be studied. The CEO took extreme offense to this comment and lashed out at her fan. She claimed that she was richer than she had ever been. This claim by the CEO is likely true. When she joined the company, there were several rumors that she had become the top-paid female performer in wrestling.
Mercedes Mone continued saying that she was also putting on better matches than she ever had before. Furthermore, she was living her best life. She hadn’t downgraded but instead, moved forward and never looked back in her life. The former WWE Women’s Champion said that she felt rich in spirit, rich in her bank account, and overall rich in life. And that was the best feeling for her.

Mone’s fans were happy to see her shut down her haters in such a brutal manner. She clearly does not tolerate disrespect from anyone. Months ago, she roasted a reporter at the AEW All In press conference who kept prying about her divorce.
Athena claims she is better than Mercedes Mone and is willing to prove it in a match
Mercedes Mone and Athena have a lot of history in the wrestling world. They used to work together in WWE, albeit under different names, and have now found themselves in the same promotion once again. Their last match took place in 2018 when the former Ember Moon defeated Ruby Riott and the CEO in a triple threat match.
Speaking with Denise Salcedo, Athena made it clear that she is still not done with Mone. She said that they had been in matches before, but the AEW TBS Champion was never able to beat her. Athena believed that if they went one-on-one again, it could main event any show.
I’ve been in matches with her former self, and she’s never beaten me. I look at that and know those weren’t singles matches; there were other variables. If it came down to me versus Mercedes Mone one-on-one, Athena versus Mercedes Mone, that has to headline; that has to be a main event.

Athena also claimed that she was much hungrier, grittier, and more determined than her rival. Furthermore, she did not have to do a hip swivel dance to get over with the fans. All these factors combined made her better than Mone.
