The San Francisco 49ers took on the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, September 22nd. The game was attended by tens of thousands of spectators, including AEW wrestler Mercedes Mone, who finally got to reunite with her old faction members at the venue.

Leila Grey, another AEW talent, posted a few photos of herself attending the game alongside Mercedes Mone, Bayley, Tamina Snuka, and Naomi. Most of them are huge fans of the sport. The Role Model is even known to be a huge fan of the 49ers. Unfortunately, things did not go down as she would’ve hoped to. Although they were leading 24-14 in the fourth quarter, they ended up losing 27-24 after a last-second field goal.

When the erstwhile Sasha Banks debuted on the WWE main roster, she joined forces with the then-tag team of Naomi and Tamina to form Team BAD. They would often feud with Team PCB, consisting of Paige, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch. Occasionally, they also faced off against The Bella Twins.

The team disbanded in 2016 when the Samoan had to undergo knee surgery, and the former TNA Knockouts Champion was busy with the shooting of Marine 5. The superstars never re-united in WWE again.

The 32-year-old is also undoubtedly still very close to Bayley. The former WWE Women’s Champion came out to support her friend and was present in the arena when Mone made her debut at AEW Dynamite: Big Business. Furthermore, the Role Model also posted a throwback video of her friend being by her side as she got stitches during a live event in Japan.

Mercedes Mone showers massive praise upon Bayley, claims she could be a coach or executive

Mercedes Mone and Bayley have a relationship spanning more than a decade. They have put on some of the best women’s matches in NXT history and continue to be great friends to this day. In a recent edition of Mone Mag, the former NJPW star showered massive praise on her friend. She claimed that the 35-year-old could easily take up the role of a coach or wrestling executive.

Mone asserted that the 2024 Royal Rumble winner had always been a natural leader. Furthermore, coaching other talent was something that she often talked about. The AEW TBS Champion said that she wouldn’t be surprised if her friend opened up a wrestling school or became a WWE executive when she hung up her boots for good.

She’s unselfish and passionate, constantly working to push the women’s division forward as a whole – not just herself. That’s a true role model and real leadership. When you talk about the women’s movement in life, not just wrestling, Bayley epitomizes what it needs to be and should be.

Mone added that Bayley is still the go-to person backstage for many women on the roster. She is always willing to help out other talent backstage or put them over in a match. The former Women’s Champion has done tremendous work to push forward the entire women’s division, not just herself.
