Mercedes Mone is famously a cousin of American rapper Snoop Dogg. The 53-year-old has played a huge part in her wrestling career and even rapped her to the ring at WrestleMania 32. The AEW TBS Champion recently revealed the best advice that she had ever received from him.
Speaking on the Sherri Shepherd Show, Mone revealed an anecdote from when she was 16 years old and went to WrestleMania with Snoop Dogg. She told her cousin that she wanted to be a professional wrestler one day. The American rapper told her that he believed in her and advised her that sometimes in life, one has to be a h*e.
Mercedes Mone was initially confused and asked him about what this meant. Snoop Dogg replied by saying that one has to put one’s head down and work. One must work hard until they finally become a pimp, meaning the CEO of one’s life. The NJPW Strong Women’s Champion said that it made sense to her now. A few years ago, she felt like a h*e. However, now, she was a pimp and the CEO of her own life.
It is hard to argue that Mone isn’t doing well at the moment. A fan had recently claimed that her AEW career was a stark downgrade from what she was doing before, but the 32-year-old shot back by saying that she was richer than ever and was putting on incredible matches. She also seems to be much happier where she is currently. After all, she has talked at length about all the creative freedom that she gets under AEW.
Mercedes Mone reveals her future goals in professional wrestling
Mercedes Mone has seemingly achieved it all in her professional wrestling career. She has main-evented WrestleMania, won world championships in several promotions and put on stellar matches all over the world. For someone like her, it may feel like there is nothing more left for her to do. However, she recently revealed the next steps of her career.
Speaking in a post-match interview after WrestleDynasty, Mone said that she had fulfilled her dream after becoming the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Champion, which was merged with the Queen of Southside Championship. She believed that the women’s divisions of AEW and NJPW were all doing amazing. Thus, her new dream was to have a match in the main event of Tokyo Dome.
