IPL 2021: Who’s going to win today’s match? – MI vs SRH, Match 9

Mumbai Indians (MI) take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) today and the defending champions will be favourites to notch up their second win of the season at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. MI seemed down and out and looked set for a second consecutive loss when the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batsmen were going steady, but a stupendous turnaround with the ball helped them clinch their first victory.

SRH on the other hand, fell victim to a similar bowling performance from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their second match as their chase derailed late. With plenty of issues to address and the middle-order being the most important among them, the Orange Army would be desperate for a win today while MI would want to make a statement that the loss in the first match was a minor blip as has been the case in a plethora of seasons.

SRH are in a spot of bother in the IPL, not because of the two losses but because of the problems in the middle order plaguing them. Changes seem almost certain and the first thing the Orange Army should do is to bring Kane Williamson into the side, provided he is fit and available. The New Zealander’s calm presence could work wonders for SRH and turn their fortunes this season around.

MI wouldn’t have too much to worry about as their bowling has looked excellent so far. They would want to address their batting however, as the finishers did not deliver in both matches. The mood in the camp is bound to be upbeat and it would only take a terrific all-round performance for SRH to beat MI. MI are thus, favourites to win this one and notch up their second consecutive win.

Prediction: MI to win
