Josh Richardson and Stephen Curry
The Miami Heat star Josh Richardson has been in the headlines lately for his recent comments involving the Golden State Warriors legend, Stephen Curry. On the OG’s podcast, Richardson opened up on what it was to face Curry for the first time in his career. In addition, Curry has been the Warriors’ best player over the years in the NBA.
On the OG’s podcast, Richardson claimed that he was ready to face an in-form Curry in his first-ever matchup against him. He also asserted that he would not allow Curry to have an easy shooting night in Miami. However, Curry ended up scoring more than 40 points that night and displayed his class toward Richardson and the Heat.
We play the Warriors at home and this is 2015-16 so gogi comes off the game and I'm coming off the bench and my first matchup is Steph [Curry]...I'm just pushing him. I'm like, yeah, you're not doing that tonight, not on me brother. About 36 minutes later & 42 Steph points later.Josh Richardson said on the OG’s Podcast
On the contrary, both Curry and Richardson had a 2023-24 season to forget as their sides did not perform at their best this year. For the Miami Heat, in 43 games this season, Josh Richardson averaged 9.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists. Also, for the Golden State Warriors, in 74 games this season, Stephen Curry averaged 26.4 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.5 rebounds. Despite playing well for their sides, they did not achieve anything great this season and will be looking to make a mark in the next 2024-25 NBA season.
