The Jimmy Butler saga continues to get more and more twisted with every passing day. Just days after the Miami Heat suspended their superstar once again for missing the team’s flight, Butler got into trouble again, although this time it involved his personal affairs. On Friday night, Butler was spotted getting into a heated altercation in Miami while visiting a club.

But things went south on Friday night when Butler got into a heated altercation at the Reserve Padel Club. Videos emerged of what seemed to be Butler getting into an argument with supposedly other members at the Club. In the video, Butler could be seen in an intense argument while a person held him back to prevent a more untowardly outcome to the night. So far, details of what caused the fight or what was said in it are unclear.

Jimmy Butler is in his sixth season with the Heat and was once viewed as the heart and soul of the franchise, leading them to the NBA Finals twice. However, tensions escalated after last year’s playoff exit against the Boston Celtics, where team president Pat Riley publicly criticized Butler’s comments about the series despite not playing due to injury. With contract negotiations breaking down over the summer, Butler’s relationship with Miami has only soured further.

Jimmy Butler blacklists Memphis Grizzlies from potential trade

As Jimmy Butler’s trade request lingers, reports indicate that he is limiting his options. Although Butler initially said that he wants to play ‘anywhere but Miami’, he has actively ruled out the Memphis Grizzlies as a possible destination. The 35-year-old forward is seeking a max contract extension, which has narrowed his preferred landing spots to teams willing to meet his financial demands.

I was told today from someone close to the situation that his wish list is just out of Miami, with the exception to Memphis. But he does wanna finish his career wherever he goes. That’s the key.

NBA insider Marc J. Spears reported

Butler’s exclusion of the Grizzlies from his list is notable, as Memphis has been exploring ways to add another star alongside Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. The Grizzlies, currently managing contract extensions for key players, could theoretically consolidate assets to acquire Butler. However, his reluctance suggests he may not see Memphis as a long-term fit.

At the moment, Jimmy Butler remains focused on potentially playing with the Phoenix Suns, who he has listed as his top trade destination, although the Suns may look at different options. The Grizzlies however, continue to stay on the hunt to add star talent to their plug and play roster, and Butler’s reluctance does not seem to have changed the Grizzlies front office’s will to trade for him.
