Sofia Kenin makes quick recovery following emergency surgery, gets back on the court at Miami Open 2021
Sofia Kenin
Sofia Kenin has had a stop start post pandemic return to the tour. First she got knocked out in the Fourth round of the US Open but then she reached the Finals of the French Open. At the French Open Finals she was beaten by Iga Świątek 6-4 6-1. At the Australian Open 2021, the defending champion Kenin, crashed out in the second round amidst a lot of disappointment.
But now that her Appendix surgery has been a success and she has recovered completely, Kenin will want better things from 2021. A piece of good news for her was winning the WTA’s Player of the Year award. Kenin had won her first major title at last year’s Australian Open and also captured Lyon’s 250-level event before the pandemic halted the game. Post pandemic she reached the Final of the French Open.
