The Indianapolis Colts are not having a good season by any length of imagination. Last season, they finished 9-8 with rookie Anthony Richardson sitting at home. This season, their expectations was to be better with him starting. But now, with the latest substitution controversy, the quarterback is taking some heat, which Micah Parsons thinks he could have avoided.
The second-year quarterback subbed himself out of their Week 8 game against the Houston Texans. For that substitution alone, he received a lot of flak. Many were trying to figure out how a 22-year-old professional athlete could become tired in a football game with time left on the clock.
The former Florida star made it worse in the post-game interviews as he confirmed to reporters that he was tired from running around all day. Dallas Cowboys star pass rusher Micah Parsons heard every bit of this controversy. While on his podcast, The Edge with Micah Parsons, along with teammate Trevon Diggs, he had this advice for Anthony Richardson.

Parsons and Diggs suggested that the Indianapolis Colts QB could have used any other excuse. As giving a truth such as this could have repercussions on his image as a professional ball player. Any other injury excuse would not have generated this much attention.
Micah Parsons asks team veterans to help out Anthony Richardson
Micah Parsons feels the young quarterback is lacking a shoulder in the locker room on whom he can lean. Generally, a veteran presence can help him go through the ordeals of handling the game and all its associated nuances. Knowing how it is in the NFL, the three-time All-Pro had some more words for Richardson.
The superstar DB mentioned that due to his season-ending injury last year, Anthony Richardson was not around the team. That lack of time spent with his colleagues has set him back in terms of being on the same page.
For that reason, he believes any veteran from the Indianapolis Colts should take Richardson under their wing. Only then can they help right the ship and help him help the team. All that incredibly raw talent at his disposal just needs some polish.
