Micah Parsons reconciled with Mike McCarthy after the star linebacker lashed out at his head coach following the Dallas Cowboys’ bad spell of games. Parsons confided that all the hard feelings were under the rug.

As the Cowboys prepare to face divisional rivals the Washington Commanders in Week 12, reporters wanted to verify if there was bad blood between Parsons and McCarthy. After Thursday’s practice, the 25-year-old spoke with the media and revealed, as per Pat Doney of NBC Fort Worth Dallas,

We hashed it out. It’s all good and gravy… I could’ve did better. I was angry (after the loss)… I didn’t think people would take it in that context. That’s on me.

After the Cowboys lost against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10, Parsons blurted out that McCarthy was free to go wherever he wanted, creating a rift between him and the fanbase for putting his coach on the pedestal.

McCarthy tried to damage control the situation. He reassured everyone that there were no hard feelings between him and Parsons. Later, the All-Pro edge rusher accused the media of twisting his words to make him look bad.

Will Mike McCarthy remain as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys?

If the season ends today, 2024 will go down as one of the worst years for Cowboys football. They currently sit with three wins and eight losses and haven’t won a single home game in the calendar year (including last season’s playoff).

However, the Cowboys’ disappointment is far longer than a one-season failure. Jerry Jones’ team remains without an NFC Championship appearance for nearly three decades.

McCarthy is under immense scrutiny and more or less has one foot out of Arlington. When reporters asked Parsons if he knew any insider news about the veteran head coach’s job security, he plead innocence.

That’s above my pay grade… (But) he’s won a lot of games.

McCarthy recorded three consecutive 12-5 seasons, but he failed to lead the Cowboys past the divisional round. The Cowboys owner reportedly has someone in his mind to replace the 61-year-old. It’s the Cowboys’ former player Deion Sanders who is currently the head coach at the Colorado Buffaloes.

Another ex-Cowboy, Michael Irvin, recently stirred the kettle by saying that there’s a good chance Sanders will take over as the Cowboys’ head coach in 2025. Everything depends on what Jones wants in the end, but before planning for the next campaign, they should focus on winning some games this season.
