As the season ended on a heartbreaking note for the Detroit Lions, both its offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator have been poached by other teams in the league as head coach. Unfortunately, the Dallas Cowboys is not one of those teams, as they remain one of the only three teams without a head coach after releasing Mike McCarthy

The Cowboys– recently receiving the unwanted record of the longest NFC championship game appearance, lacks any solid prospects after the buzz around Deion Sanders and Jason Witten dialed down. If that wasn’t enough to frustrate the fans, Jerry Jones made no efforts to pursue Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn

Now, the Chicago Bears have hired the former while the latter has been poached by the New York Jets, leaving all scopes for the Cowboys to even consider them. While the players haven’t commented on the matter, Micah Parsons’ brother, Terrence Parsons Jr. has quite a lot to say about Jones’ Cowboys.

Sounds like a f**kin head coach who knows exactly what he needs to do… and he knew Dallas was never the place he could do it at lol

Jerry Jones eye former players for vacant head coach role

Considering the names that are being associated with Dallas, the franchise intends to get a former team or staff member. They previously approached former players: Sanders and Witten despite them having zero experience in coaching an NFL team. And now, they are being associated with the Philadelphia Eagles’ Kellen Moore, who served as backup head coach and offensive coordinator in 2022.

Though they interviewed Robert Saleh and Leslie Frazer also, the frontrunner to occupy the vacant role is the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. He is said to have cleared the first round of interviews and scheduled for a follow-up on Wednesday.

Additionally, they reportedly haven’t stopped pursuing the legendary Sanders and said to request an official meeting with the head coach. Even though he has repeatedly denied the possibility of leaving Colorado for Dallas, the NFL’s richest franchise is optimistic about convincing Coach Prime.
