The Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers game in Week 4 was nothing short of thrilling and dramatic. The two teams battled it out until the final minutes of overtime to finish with the highest scoring tie in the history of the Super Bowl era.

The game was as interesting as the offseason drama between the former Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons and the management in Dallas, especially the general manager and owner, Jerry Jones. The management and the linebacker were unable to reach an agreement on the LB’s contract extension.

The drama has extended into the season despite the linebacker being traded to the Green Bay Packers and becoming the highest paid non QB. The various storylines included whether the parties had any closure, and the tribute drama ahead of the Sunday game. After the game, the media asked the linebacker about his emotions on his return to AT&T Stadium for the first time since his trade.

Parsons was not happy with the result, but he claimed that there were no emotions in him associated with the Cowboys after his trade. He added that he was not even given the courtesy of speaking with Jerry Jones when he was traded. Parsons confessed that he was informed about the decision by his agent.

The emotions for me, being in Dallas, went away the moment they traded me… The importance for the organization in that, like I didn’t get to talk to my owner, the person that drafted me. I found out through my agent.

Parsons admitted that the emotional angle of the trade ceased due to these actions. He added that it was more of a respect issue than emotion, explaining that Jones didn’t think of calling him to his office and tell him like a man.

In the post-match interviews, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had his own words for Micah Parsons. Jones praised Parsons for his skills and talents and mentioned that he received what he wanted from the trade. The GM added that he believed the Green Bay Packers was also happy with the deliverables on their end.

However, the congratulatory tone shifted when he was reminded of paying Dak Prescott generously and asked why the courtesy wasn’t extended to Parsons. In what has become a hugely debated statement, Jones claimed that Dak Prescott was an indispensable player while Parsons wasn’t.

Prescott’s performance on Sunday was remarkable. He now leads the quarterbacks in passing yards. He was even unfazed by the Packers’ pressures. Even Parsons claimed that Prescott played better than his team’s defense. The statement from Jones, however, overstepped the line a bit, or so Rex Ryan thought.

In Monday morning’s episode of Get Up, Ryan felt that Jones’ statement was invalid. He explained that the Cowboys were unable to secure a win because of Parsons. The Cowboys had a last-minute chance to add one more win in their column, which was thwarted when Parsons sacked Prescott for the first time.

Hell no. Are you kidding me? The reason you don’t win that game is because Micah Parsons sacked your quarterback.

He also added that Dallas did everything they could to prevent Parsons from making an impact by using double teams and chip blocking, which explains why Parsons didn’t light up the stat sheet. But that argument falls apart when the defense still surrendered 40 points; neutralizing one player doesn’t excuse an overall collapse. The Green Bay Packers, after a hot start, are winless in the last two games, and they will be heading into the bye week with questions that need to be answered.
