Micah Parsons and his Green Bay Packers flew into Detroit knowing that nothing short of an elite performance can keep them above the Detroit Lions in the NFC North.
With just a game separating them and the Chicago Bears, every game is important. More so, when divisional games come into the picture, as those wins or losses will impact their final standings.
Keeping that in mind, the Packers started the game strong and maintained a 10-point lead, albeit with controversial officiating that seemingly helped them stay in front.
In the second half, QB Jordan Love continued to power the offense to touchdowns, which ensured that the double-digit deficit stood. Then, late in the fourth quarter, the Detroit Lions started to drive down the field in an attempt to stage a comeback.
After two unsuccessful attempts at the Packers’ 4-yard line, QB Jared Goff received the snap and waited for his receivers to get open. Micah Parsons first faced a chip block from tight end Anthony Firkser.
After coming off that block, the superstar pass rusher noticed that all other Lions’ O-Linemen were occupied handling his teammates. Sensing an opportunity, he first hid behind one of his teammates and then pounced on Goff, bringing him down to register a loss of 9 yards.

With that takedown, Micah Parsons ended the game with 2.5 sacks and 3 tackles for loss, the best game in his first season with the Packers. More importantly, that sack stopped the Lions from reducing the deficit to just 3 points.
Micah Parsons enjoys his turkey after helping Packers win
Had the Detroit Lions scored the full 7 points, they would have had enough time to stage another attempt to score and potentially win the game.

Micah Parsons had not just ensured his team would win, but he was also about to celebrate Thanksgiving with a turkey feast after the game. When FOX Sports’ Erin Andrews asked him about the turkey spread, he replied:
I’m not going to lie, much improved turkey.
Micah Parsons said
He was also part of last season’s Thanksgiving game, and Andrews was quick to remind the pass rusher that they made sure to get him a leg piece, and that too with the sauce that he preferred.

The Penn State star also spoke about how this 31-24 win was a collective effort with Jordan Love and his offense doing their bit, while the defense ensured the Lions had a tough time in front of their own fans.

However, Erin Andrews decided to remind the 26-year-old how good he was tonight. With his sacks, Parsons managed to end the night with 12.5, making him the first player in NFL history to register 12+ takedowns in the first 5 seasons.
Micah Parsons reveals Myles Garrett’s motivational message ahead of Thanksgiving game
Parsons had the best game of his short Green Bay Packers career, and he moves to third behind Myles Garrett and Brian Burns on the league’s sack leaderboard.
The Pennsylvania native has a good relationship with the Browns’ superstar and was asked if he was praying that Garrett does not register a sack, so that Parsons can catch him.
Nah. I don’t pray against my elders. Myles is somebody who has been good to me. He reached out to me this morning and was like, ‘I hope you go be great.’

Does Parsons hope Garrett goes sack-less so he can catch up?

The Packers’ star knows Myles Garrett is leading the league with 18 sacks, and could end up breaking the NFL’s single-season record. Since he has a good bond with the Browns’ star, he does not wish anything bad on him and always enjoys the support.
