The Green Bay Packers are one of the strongest teams in the NFC with two solid wins to start their season. The Packers started the season with a dominating win over the defending top seed in NFC, the Detroit Lions at their home ground. In Week 2, the Packers got better of the Washington Commanders, who had made a comeback last season with a deep run in the playoffs.
The Packers were a strong unit even before this season. They finished third in the closely contested NFC North and made the playoffs, where the eventual champions Philadelphia Eagles, eliminated them in the Wild Card Round.
In the offseason, after months-long, the Dallas Cowboys parted ways with one of the best linebackers in the league. The Packers, who were linked to Micah Parsons weeks before, swooped in immediately with an offer that made Parsons the highest-paid non-quarterback.
The presence of Parsons has shifted the mentality about the Green Bay Packers. The Packers’ defensive unit is now recognized as a fortress that would be a tough wall to break through for any opponent. And Parsons’ role in shaping this new perspective is huge. The Packers return this week for their first road game of the season against a weak Cleveland Browns (0-2) team.
The anticipation is not for the game against the Browns but their upcoming game next week against the Cowboys. Parsons will return to the AT&T Stadium, where he will face his former colleagues. Parsons is, however, not so much bothered about the Cowboys’ return clash. His focus is on the next game against the Browns and how to sack Joe Flacco, a veteran quarterback whom Parsons has never sacked before.
Man, really just getting after Flacco. I kind of like the name ‘The Hunter.’ I haven’t had Flacco yet. I need him. I want him. It’s time to go get him. I couldn’t be more excited. It’s just about that QB right in front of me. I don’t want to look past him. I need him.
Parsons was addressing the media during an availability on Friday morning. His response came as an answer to a question about how he kept his focus on the Browns with a looming game against the Cowboys.
Micah Parsons and Myles Garrett face off in a battle between the league’s best defensive ends
Myles Garrett, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, and Micah Parsons are frontrunners for the DROY award this year. A few weeks ago, the former wasn’t expecting to face the latter this season as the Browns had no schedule against the Cowboys in 2025. However, in a short span, things did change, and they are facing each other for the second time in history on Sunday.

Despite the competition, Parsons and Garrett share a bond cemented by mutual admiration. Parsons admitted:
I think, one, it makes the brotherhood tight because when you’re the best — and I would say he’s probably one of the better guys, if you argue Myles is better [than me], I wouldn’t hesitate to probably say you’re right.

There's a great deal of respect between Micah Parsons and Myles Garrett.

Parsons further added that sometimes Garrett is like a big brother or a mentor. He admitted that the Browns’ DE has advised him on several aspects as well as his career trajectory made him a great person. Garrett has returned the sentiment, calling himself and the Packers linebacker “two of the very best of this generation,” while adding that very few others fit that description.

The Browns are hungry for a win after a close loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2 and a humbler against the Baltimore Ravens last week. It needs to be seen if they can they bounce back.
