The Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys fought it out on Sunday night at AT&T Stadium in Dallas in one of the best matches in recent history. The highly anticipated duel ended in the highest-scoring tie in the Super Bowl era.

The game was fiery, but the result wasn’t ideal. The Packers, who are known for their stingy and fortress defense, gave away 40 points. Even though their offense earned it back, a tie is a less favorable outcome than a win. The Packers are now 2-1-1 after starting in a handsome fashion with two back-to-back wins against playoff contenders the Detroit Lions and the Washington Commanders.

More so, for Micah Parsons, who traded away from the Cowboys this offseason, the game was personal. Parsons, who played in Dallas for four seasons, wasn’t able to reach a contract extension with the Cowboys’ management. They might have gotten away with a loss, thanks to his game-saving sack in the last minute, but it hasn’t settled the fire in Parsons.

I’m not even going to lie, I’m pissed off. I’m very disappointed, just overall how we performed.

Micah Parsons told the media in the post-game conference

He clarified that his response wasn’t about the offense. Parsons added that he had apologized to their quarterback, Jordan Love, who was marvelous with 337 passing yards and three touchdowns.

I even told Jordan to the side, you know, ‘Thank you for having our back today.’ You know, that’s why it’s so pivotal to, you know you play complementary football. Because today, Jordan played like the player he was, and we let him down. We didn’t live up to the level of expectation on defense.

Micah Parsons admit Dak Prescott played better than their defense on their SNF clash

Micah Parsons and Dak Prescott were thick as thieves during their time in Dallas. The duo used to constantly go up against each other, challenging each other to perform better on the field. Parsons was able to contact Prescott for the first time, and he was relentless in his efforts to neutralize the opposing quarterback despite it being painful.

Prescott was brilliant on the field, throwing 319 yards and three touchdowns. He was unfazed despite being pressured on 14 of his 41 dropbacks. In fact, he completed 10 of 13 passes for 121 yards and six first downs when pressured.

In the postgame interview, Parsons also took time to praise his former teammate. He even admitted that Prescott played better than their defense.

You look how precise No. 4 looked tonight, just getting through his throws, getting to his receivers, the timing. I think he played a better game than we played defense. So, you know, shout-out to Dak, and I told him, I said, ‘You go watch that film. You’re lucky if you weren’t on your (expletive), it would’ve been a long day, it would’ve been a real long day for you,’ but he played a hell of a game, and I give him kudos for that.

Parsons said

Aside from exchanging post-game hugs and chatting with a few former teammates, Parsons said he felt nothing else emotionally during his first visit back to the place where he spent the first four years of his NFL career. The DE even confessed that any emotions he had ended when he was traded.
