On Monday night, Micah Parsons and his Dallas Cowboys endured one of the most painful losses of their already disappointing season. The Cincinnati Bengals were gifted another chance to score, which they did eventually won the game, leaving him emotionally wrecked.
That emotional outburst saw him first throw up his hands in the air when he understood Amani Oruwariye could not grab the ball during the punt. Instead, it bounced off him and into the hands of Bengals players. With a shorter field, QB Joe Burrow threw another of his bombs to Ja’Marr Chase to take the lead.
To be fair to Micah Parsons, him and his defensive colleagues did a great job in the second half of the game. They intercepted Burrow, then stopped him to a field goal and then forced two punts. Just that the last punt turned into that dreadful play.
Every single Dallas Cowboys player and staff expressed shock after that play. The outcome of that was that fans thought the players lost their focus, as was evident from Parsons’ outburst. But on his podcast, he decided to address it.
Micah Parsons explains his postgame emotions after loss vs. Bengals:

'Damned if I do, damned if I don't… If I went over there and was all laughing with the competition after we lost like that, a lot of people would be mad.'

The pass rusher reiterated that other than maybe two or three all-time greats, every player shows emotions. Particularly when they did all they could to just come up short, that too due to a mistake from one of their own.
Micah Parsons and Cowboys badly wanted that win
The Dallas Cowboys were on a two-game winning streak after struggling through five straight losses. That gave them hope of at least making something out of the season. Micah Parsons and his defensive unit knew they had a task at hand facing Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals.
But they fought hard throughout the game and if not for that dreaded play, may have had a chance to win their third straight game. Then they could have tried to win a fourth straight one next week against the Carolina Panthers.
Those wins could have brought some pride back into a squad that was beaten black and blue by fans and analysts all season. In addition to all that, they lost DeMarvion Overshown to a season ending injury.
Parsons, in particular, had promised fans that they would do everything to ensure they won all their games until the end of the season. Knowing the playoffs were out of reach, at least giving the fans something to cheer for, ended up being sour.
