Micah Parsons faced the Chicago Bears when he was playing for the Dallas Cowboys. But now with the Green Bay Packers, the stakes are a lot higher.
The rivalry between the two dates back to 1921, and it was the Illinois-based team that had the upper hand for a long time. That is, until first Brett Favre, and then Aaron Rodgers, wore a Packers uniform, and changed the narrative towards the Wisconsin-based team.
After a tumultuous period of disappointment, the Bears are back among the league’s best with a 9-3 record. On the other hand, the Packers are not far behind with an 8-3-1 record to boot.
The two sides will battle for the 211th time on Sunday. They will play another game in two weeks, which means these games will decide the NFC North. On that occasion, reporters as Micah Parsons what he thought about this rivalry.
Rivalries are for the people, it’s for fans. For me, it’s just going out there, just dominate. I just don’t like them just because, I see the disrespect. I play for respect. You know how to earn someone’s respect is beating the s**t out of them.
Micah Parsons said
For him, it is more about how he and his teammates will earn the respect of the Bears by beating them both at home, and then in their house in front of their fans.
Micah Parsons doesn’t like the Bears, but it’s not about the rivalry. It’s nothing personal either. For Parsons, it’s a respect thing.

Therefore, Parsons made it more about self-respect more than the rivalry. It seems he is using that as motivation rather than something that the fans of both franchises have associated with.
Jordan Love follows Micah Parsons’ on rivalry opinion
Micah Parsons may have personal pride over the rivalry between his team and the Chicago Bears. When Jordan Love was asked about it, the quarterback had this to say.
It’s a big game. A big game for sure. Obviously, NFC North matchup, the Bears are No. 1 in the NFC.
Jordan Love said
The 27-year-old added that his team has not faced the NFC-leading Bears this season, which makes this upcoming game and the next crucial if the Packers are to try to win the division.
Jordan Love isn’t shying away from what Sunday’s matchup against NFC top seeded Bears means. No, it’s not just another game.

Even though reporters pressed, Love also did not toe the line of rivalry conversations, as he felt it was more about their respective playoff positions than the rivalry.
It seems the Packers are looking at this upcoming Week 14 matchup not as a rivalry, as that would bring unnecessary pressure to perform. Instead, by treating this and their Week 16 game as something that will define their season result.
Micah Parsons not chasing Myles Garrett in sack race
In his first season with the Green Bay Packers, Micah Parsons proved he has not allowed the lack of familiarity to be an excuse. After registering his 5th straight 12 sack season, reporters asked if he was looking to chase Myles Garrett in the race to the top.

I read the same thing you guys read, ‘He never finishes the year.’ Well, it’s time to go finish the year. It’s been a great first half. I’ve done this before, 12 sacks… I’m just trying to finish the year.
Micah Parsons replied
It seems the 26-year-old is not openly trying to chase his close friend in the sack race. Instead, he is only bothered about finishing the year in the best possible way.
Micah Parsons concedes he can’t catch Myles Garrett in sack chase. With that, DPOY is longshot. But Parsons says goal is having his best season.

Asked him if 2025 has been.

In the past, he was accused of not finishing well despite having a good start. Now, Parsons wants to change that trend and hopefully notch the most single-season sacks of his career.
