Dallas Cowboys star pass rusher Micah Parsons is attending mandatory minicamps ahead of next season. He might not be playing full-padded football at the moment, but he is watching other sports, namely the NBA Playoffs, to keep competitive action in his sights.
He has no clear favorites and has been watching all the action taking place in the semi-final rounds. The excitement surrounding the NBA Playoffs has gripped him, and he has witnessed some star young players, just as himself, take the onus and lead their respective teams.
At the same time, he also knows that those young studs are quite a bit away from attaining the great player moniker some of the league’s veteran superstars have. Then his sights fell on a list of current NBA players in order of how great they were in their primes.
When he looked at that list compiled by former NFL player and current FS1 analyst Emmanuel Acho, he saw that the former fellow linebacker has placed LeBron James first, and then followed by other players. But Micah Parsons took exception to that list.
Im sorry not having curry first is disrespectful!
Micah Parsons wrote
The two-time first-team All-Pro believes Emmanuel Acho disrespected Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry by not placing him first on his list. Curry is the best shooter in league history, and his four championships are a testament to his greatness.

Parsons might also be factoring in Curry’s impact on the game of basketball, which transcends everyone else on that list. Maybe if Acho had placed Curry second, he would have received a pass. But placing Curry fifth might have triggered the star pass rusher.
Micah Parsons gearing up for Cowboys schedule release
The NBA Playoffs might have caught Micah Parsons’ attention. But his primary focus remains on his job as the leading defensive player on the Dallas Cowboys. He is already aware that he and his teammates will open Week 1 against the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles.
That divisional rivalry game will be the best test for the Cowboys to see how much they have improved after Jerry Jones had a comparatively better offseason, reinforcing the roster. But the team would also like to know who else they are facing in a season where they all want to prove everyone wrong.
Later today, Parsons, along with CeeDee Lamb, Osa Odighizuwa, and Tyler Smith, will sit down in what the star pass rusher terms as ‘The Lions Den’ and live stream on Twitch to react to their upcoming 2025 season schedule.

Schedules influence how the Cowboys will fare as the season goes by. Nuances such as the timing of their bye week, clashes at both the start and the end of the season, can give an idea of what they will face. They are looking to make it back to the playoffs, and the schedule reveal will help them strategize how the team would attack the season.
Parsons still awaiting contract extension
When Micah Parsons sits down with his three teammates to watch the 2025 schedule release, he knows he is the next one up for a contract extension. He has witnessed Jerry Jones hand both Lamb and Odighizuwa monster deals over the past year and a half.

Even though the Penn State alum is not in a rush, he knows the longer he waits, his position becomes even more jittery. There were rumors of the Cowboys fielding trade calls. But Parsons believes Jerry Jones wants to hand him the biggest contract possible.
After all, he is one of the only players to have Jones’ personal number on speed dial. That is probably the only assurance he needs, as he has slowly become the face of the franchise, despite having the highest-paid player manning the most important position.
