Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons denied all the allegations that accused him of throwing his head coach Mike McCarthy under the bus after they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles. Parsons claimed the media twisted his words to make him the bad guy.

A day after the defeat, Parsons was back at his house recording the latest episode of The Edge Podcast. In the meantime, his video on McCarthy’s job security gained massive backlash from former players and football analysts alike.

However, Parsons claimed that he did not imply that McCarthy wasn’t fit to coach the Cowboys.

I never once threw, or even intended to throw, Mike McCarthy under the bus.

The Cowboys succumbed to their sixth defeat of the season after they lost 34-6 to their divisional rivals. It was already an uphill task, but losing to the Eagles put a dent in the Cowboys’ deflating balloon of confidence.

On top of it, they have to play the remaining games of the season without starting quarterback Dak Prescott. Cooper Rush debuted and gained just 45 yards from 13 throws, while Trey Lance had 4/6 complete passes, one of which was an interception.

After the game, Parsons told the reporters that Mike McCarthy could go “wherever he wants.” This statement spread like wildfire on the internet, implying that he took a jab at his coach.

However, according to Parsons, that’s not the case. He was only trying to do damage control.

The way y’all twist words and flip them around for content is nasty work.

Micah Parsons’ comments on Mike McCarthy angered former Jets head coach

Rex Ryan, Damien Woody, and Mike Greenberg discussed Parsons’ diss on McCarthy during Monday’s segment of ESPN’s Get Up. Ryan especially wasn’t happy with the manner in which the Cowboys’ star pass rusher phrased his words about his own coach.

Being a former head coach, the 61-year-old possesses first-hand experience of being in the same shoes as McCarthy. Ryan pointed out that coaches have to sacrifice spending time with their families and invest copious amounts of hours in building the team.

I don’t care how talented he is; that is absolutely BS. If you would’ve worked half as frickin’ hard as a damn coach does, maybe you’d be able to play every damn game. Maybe your team wouldn’t just be a bunch of punks.

Ryan further highlighted that McCarthy never blamed any of the players for the Cowboys’ recent struggles. Greenberg agreed with him, and for him to show leniency in letting Ryan curse on live TV proves how serious the matter is.
