The single biggest concern regarding Green Bay Packers pass rusher Micah Parsons has been his inability to be good enough in run defense.

Micah Parsons is, without a doubt, one of the better pass rushers in the league. When the Green Bay Packers stumbled upon the chance to trade for him, they jumped at the opportunity.

They knew his ability to chase quarterbacks was going to elevate not only their first level of defense, but it would also help the secondary get a jump start when it comes to covering opposing receivers.

The trade happened, and since then, Parsons has shone sporadically. He is tied for 13th in the league in sacks, despite having to learn everything about his new teammates on the fly.

However, that ability to sack the quarterback was not good enough when facing the Philadelphia Eagles. Their poor performance on defense led FS1’s Colin Cowherd to question the Penn State alum’s ability to stop the run.

He believes these games are proving what others have been saying so far, and that is that Micah Parsons is historically poor while trying to stop the run. This clip of The Herd caught the Packers star’s eye, which led him to write this:

(Laughing emoticons) We just held Saquon Barkley to 60 rushing yards, and our only losses have been holding teams to 13 points! Man, sometimes can y’all? Please stfu and enjoy great defense! Why do you think teams come into the games that were going to run the ball on 3rd and long? What effect do you think that is? Please stop giving people’s mics or listening to trash!

The 26-year-old feels he was instrumental in stopping star running back Saquon Barkley to just 60 yards. He believes that teams running the ball on third and long prove his effectiveness against the run.

Micah Parsons’ Saquon Barkley claim gets a reality check

Parsons’ claim of stopping Saquon Barkley to just 60 yards does hold true, especially if one just checks the game’s box score. However, a fan decided to give the star pass rusher a reality check.

He commented on the Packers’ star’s X post with a video from the game against the Eagles. The clip is from the fourth quarter when the Eagles handed it to Barkley on a 2nd and 7.

As the Eagles’ No. 26 runs through the middle, Parsons extends his leg while trying to grab the running back. The fan and many others mentioned that this was a clear sign of tripping.

Had the Pennsylvania native not tripped Barkley, the latter could have picked up enough yards to either make the 1st down, or gallop away to register a big gain.

If anything, this clip shows why Cowboys owner Jerry Jones felt the exorbitant price to keep Parsons, along with the latter’s deficiencies in run defense, was not good enough to keep him.

Eagles’ defense had Packers’ offense in shambles

Other than Micah Parsons and the Green Bay Packers’ defense problems, most people have been talking about the offense and how it has been lackluster in the past two games.

Other than the questions about head coach Matt LeFleur and quarterback Jordan Love‘s missteps, this clip sums up how predictable that offense has become.

The Eagles knew exactly what the Packers were running, and that helped them stop star running back Josh Jacobs with ease. Many are now encouraging the coaches to go back to the drawing board.
