However, former player Michael Beasley decided to give his honest take on the topic.

‘The OGs Show’ podcast recently shared some of the best moments of Miami Heat players on the show. One statement that caught the internet’s attention was from Michael Beasley, a guest back in March. The former Laker called out Michael Jordan supporters while choosing LeBron James as the GOAT.

Beasley had further high praise for James as he talked about the star’s 40,000 points record. The former NBA star also highlighted James’ incredible physique and the efforts he puts into his athleticism at such an age. Beasley said he was in disbelief about the contradictory takes about the 39-year-old being the ‘best ever.’

LeBron James’ record-breaking stats and unreal build over the years do make him stand out from other stars, but people have not forgotten Michael Jordan’s impact. MJ’s six championships and his unique career with the Chicago Bulls were groundbreaking for NBA fans.

Despite fans thoroughly enjoying watching both players, they may lean more towards nostalgia for Jordan than the current active player, LeBron.

Beasley’s opinion on James being the GOAT may also stem from the fact that they played together. The duo were teammates on the Heat during some of the best years of James’ career. Beasley has not only seen James play up close but has also competed against him.

Over the years, there have been a lot of rumors about Beasley beating James during one-on-one matchups. As a guest on the OGs podcast, the 35-year-old Beasley decided to clear the air. According to Beasley, the duo never played one-on-one in front of people, but he did give James a hard time while guarding him during practice.

Beasley also revealed that James once refused to be guarded by him because he seemed tired. Hence, it is safe to say that Beasley was a great defender against James, even making him ‘tap out’. However, Michael Beasley also stated that the duo shared a great bond.
