The partnership between Raw commentators Pat McAfee and Michael Cole has been very entertaining. Their unpredictable commentary has truly made wrestling on Monday nights a joy to watch. Their hilarious back-and-forth banter has created several memorable moments, much like the dynamic that unfolded during the match between Bron Breakker and Ilja Dragunov.
On the latest episode of Raw, Bron Breakker destroyed the current Intercontinental Champion, Sami Zayn, with two devastating spears. He was visibly frustrated with the loss he suffered at Money in the Bank. However, before he could do more damage, Dragunov came out to save the champ, setting up their match.
During the hard-hitting match, Pat McAfee couldn’t resist noticing how huge the 26-year-old star was. When he used a non-PG word to describe him, Michael Cole burst out laughing and told him that there are other different ways to describe him. In a hilarious moment, the former football player ended up apologizing, much to the veteran’s amusement.
Speaking about the match itself, when it looked like a battered Dragunov was going to hit the Torpedo Moscow, the former NXT Champion stopped him by throwing a chair at him. The match ended in a disqualification, but the action wasn’t over yet. Zayn also came out to support The Mad Dragon, but they both ended up being destroyed by Breakker.
Bron Breakker thanked Shawn Michaels for giving him an opportunity in NXT
Bron Breakker has created chaos since his main roster debut, which ultimately got people’s attention. However, a lot of credit should go to his NXT run for where he is right now. The 26-year-old star talked about how thankful he was to Shawn Michaels on a podcast.
While speaking on The Ringer, Breakker stated that he expressed his immense love for The Heartbreak Kid. He said that he would always be thankful to him for giving him a chance to show what he was capable of. The former NXT Champion further added how important it was for him to stay focused in the new era known as NXT 2.0.
I love Shawn Michaels to death, and he gave me the opportunity of a lifetime. the whole thing changed. So I knew how important it was for me to be as laser-focused and locked in as I’ve ever been in my entire life, and how crucial it was to just get better.Bron Breakker on Shawn Michaels via The Ringer
His NXT run was memorable, as he became the NXT Champion twice. Then, he went on to win the NXT Tag Team Championships with Baron Corbin after securing a victory in the Dusty Cup Tag Team Classic. Even though he suffered his first loss on the main roster in Canada, only a few people can doubt that he won’t win a world championship in the future.
