Michael Jordan has a reputation not just of being one of the most prolific scorers in NBA history, but also that his defense was equally good that he could harass opponents.

His 1987-88 Defensive Player of the Year award stands as the hallmark of his talent on defense. Even though it has recently courted controversy, one cannot discount the fact that his 9 All-Defensive 1st Team nominations prove he was exceptional.

That was one of the reasons that His Airness is considered to be one of the most complete players of all time. Standing at 6′ 6″, he has the wingspan and defensive acumen to slow others down.

Knowing how he was in the NBA, it would be futile for two average-sized individuals to try to take on arguably basketball’s greatest player. But Hollywood actor Martin Sheen and his son, Charlie Sheen, were brave to do so.

The latter appeared on All The Smoke podcast with Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes, where the latter asked the Golden Globe winner if the father-and-son duo had happened to have won a basketball game against Jordan.

Something happened that day. He (Martin Sheen), was like, ‘what’s our plan against this guy?’ I was like, ‘If we just spread the floor, if we just don’t get clumped up, I don’t think he can guard 2 people at the same time.’

Charlie Sheen revealed

That strategy worked, as the Sheen family left Michael Jordan, stationed inside the paint while turning his head now and then as they continued their onslaught. Two seasoned backyard scorers against the best young player in the NBA at the time was too much.

Michael Jordan erased loss to Martin and Charlie Sheen from his mind

Michael Jordan has always been referred to as the prime example of competitiveness. Be it in basketball or any other sport, and even hobbies such as playing cards and rock-paper-scissors, his drive has seen him continue to compete until he wins.

Maybe that is why the 6-time champion erased this loss to Martin and Charlie Sheen. Matt Barnes asked the Wall Street actor if it was true that Jordan denied losing to them.

Yes. We were doing this interview, the interviewer asked about that game. I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m not here to rub it in his face, but we did beat you.’ He’s like, ‘No, you didn’t.’ I was like, ‘I can appreciate that, but it’s on video.’ He was like, ‘Doesn’t matter. You didn’t win.’

Charlie Sheen recalled

It seems the 5-time league MVP was not going to allow a video of the Sheen’s defeating him to stay in his memory. Knowing he was not going to get another chance to defeat them, Michael Jordan just erased that moment from his life.

Charlie Sheen ends GOAT debate with an epic Michael Jordan vote

While talking about these instances, the cast of All The Smoke podcast were having a laugh. At this point, one of the crew members asked Charlie Sheen if he felt Michael Jordan was the NBA’s GOAT.

I mean, why is there even a debate? It just feels kind of obvious, right? I’m sure LeBron (James) won’t appreciate that.

Charlie Sheen replied

The 60-year-old could not have given a better explanation of why many consider the Chicago Bulls superstar as the greatest basketball player ever.

Sheen does not believe there is a debate, and it is obvious that Michael Jordan is head and shoulders above anyone else, particularly Lakers superstar LeBron James.
