“It’s about our entire organisation”: Michael Jordan clarifies his vision for the Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets have been entertaining this season. After being equipped with Gordon Hayward, Miles Bridges, Terry Rozier and 3rd overall pick LaMelo Ball, the team has become a powerhouse. NBA fans ridiculed Michael Jordan and Charlotte Hornets after their off-season moves. They started impressively the 2020-21 season. But the mid-season was utter devastating. They could not pull off a win. Fans reacted to overpaying Gordon Hayward. However, Michael Jordan believes there is still a lot left for the team.
Their improved season this year has attracted a lot of attention. The game this year the team is playing is comparably the best since half of the decade previously. The team is currently in a comfortable position as of now. They are 7th in the Conference with a 17-18 record. They pulled a huge 33 points win against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Gordon Hayward, Terry Rozier and LaMelo Ball ended the night with 23, 31 and 19 points respectively. Miles Bridges even registered a double-double in the pursuit. While LaMelo is enjoying ROTY campaign, the team is confident to make it into the playoff spot.

“Our goal is to build a consistent winner and have free agents look at our program, just like Gordon (Hayward) did this offseason,” said Michael Jordan. “It’s not just about Melo. It’s about our group of young, talented players, our coaching staff, and our entire Hornets organization. All of those factors, along with Charlotte being a great city, will make us become a destination.” This season has definitely been their strength compared to the last 5 seasons. Michael Jordan and the Hornets are confident to make a playoff spot after 5 years.
Despite valiant efforts, the team failed miserably last season. They have finished on the 9th position twice now falling sort of the playoff. This is also their chance to win back to back in the playoffs. Their last season where they advanced from first round in the playoffs was in 2002. Charlotte Hornets, as a team have fulfilled all the criteria’s. They will be looking ahead to drop some great games in the last stage of the league.
