Michael Jordan’s ‘mitt-sized hands’ STUNNED Patrick Beverley at St. Tropez meet

Patrick Beverly was stunned seeing Chicago Bulls legend and idol Michael Jordan's mitt-sized hands St. Tropez meet

Michael Jordan is in the eyes of many, the greatest basketball player of all time. For someone who grew up in Chicago and watched as the superstar led his hometown team to 6 NBA titles, Jordan is more than a that. Patrick Beverley idolized the former Chicago Bulls superstar. So naturally, he took a chance while in St. Tropez to meet up with his idol.

He recounted how the meeting took place in the picturesque French coastal town while speaking on his podcast, The Pat Bev Pod.

I've never met Michael Jordan. It's my birthday, wifey surprised me, she get boat. We take boat from Monte Carlo to St. Tropez. I hear the Chicago Bulls song. North Carolina, everybody stand up. They do a Michael Jordan quote. Mike in this b****? I wait until it calms down. Wifey goes 'You better get up', I get up I go to him. I see Mike, big smile on his face. I could see why he was so good. His physical being. His hands were like mitts. They were way bigger than Kawhi.

Beverley knew instantly one of the legend’s biggest secrets. His massive hands helped him take control of the ball and score at will.

They also helped the Chicago Bulls legend to be an elite defender. Big hands are a big plus when it comes to poking out steals, grabbing rebounds or even blocking shots. But they are also extremely beneficial when trying to score. There is a reason why the NBA and teams measure hand span.

But more importantly for Patrick Beverley, it was meeting his childhood idol that made his day. It could be the best birthday present he could have ever received, as he met Michael Jordan on a holiday on a different continent.

Patrick Beverley moving back to Europe

Patrick Beverley has switched back to the European league. That is after plying his trade in the NBA for 12 seasons. The former All-Defensive First teamer will now join his 7th team in the last 4 years. But he would probably continue for the full 2-year term considering his options have diminished in the NBA.

A suspension was incoming after he threw a basketball at a couple of fans. Then he was also attacked by many for his behavior towards a senior female reporter. Other than that, his options were limited. The Milwaukee Bucks did not seem to want him back. With only 2 other teams showing interest, he probably was again going to be shown a 1-year contract.

That means he would have to relocate again, causing problems for himself and his family. There was also the likelihood of being traded to another team mid-season. Instead of all that, he preferred to go back to Europe where he will have a longer contract.
