Scottie Pippen pays tribute to Gianna Bryant and Kobe Bryant

As the world commemorated Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna ‘Gigi’ Bryant‘s fifth death anniversary on Sunday, NBA icon Scottie Pippen paid tribute to their legacy. The father-daughter pair lost their life in a horrific helicopter crash on January 26, 2020, while traveling to Gigi’s basketball match. Pippen shared a touching statement on social media in remembrance of Kobe and Gigi.

His homage brought to light the LA Lakers legend’s enduring reputation as a loving parent and an incredible athlete. With a determination that made him all but unbeatable on the court, Kobe Bryant was regarded as one of the most persistent competitors in history. The basketball community still honors Bryant and Gigi’s significant contributions even after five years.

Kobe, it’s been five years, and I still find myself looking back on your legacy as a father, a friend, and a fierce competitor. Gigi was proof that greatness runs in the family, and the love you shared inspires all of us who are blessed to be girl dads. Your impact goes beyond basketball, and it always will. Rest in peace, my brother… you and Gigi are forever in our hearts.

Pippen, a father of seven, can relate to Kobe’s experiences as a dad to Gigi. This is because he recognizes the special link that exists between fathers and daughters. In addition, apart from Pippen, many other NBA stars and legends paid homage to Bryant as well.
