American hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg recently tested out his swimming prowess alongside 23x Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps in the pool. The video amused many fans as they saw the rapper get his personal swimming lessons from the GOAT.

Both of them were seen taking a dip in the pool water in a special video of the 2024 Paris Olympics celebration, where Snoop Dogg showed off his backstroke. It seemed like Phelps gave him a bit of advice on his strokes, as the rapper said their friendship “go back” in the days.

The most decorated Olympian of all time spoke about how wingspan and lung power are important factors in swimming. Hearing that Snoop Dogg said,

During their lesson session, Phelps asked if the rapper needed goggles and he replied, “Hell no!” Snoop Dogg said he and Phelps “we go back like the backstroke.” He even said that Michael Phelps was “one of my lifetime goals.” Snoop Dogg even added that the Olympian has always made swimming “look easy.”

Michael Phelps calls Katie Ledecky “my little sister”

During an interview with NBC Sports, Michael Phelps talked about how it felt to watch the Olympic Opening Ceremony and what he thinks of the current generation of swimmers. Phelps noted that he’s definitely keeping an eye out for Katie Ledecky.

He even called her “my little sister” mentioning an old picture where a young Ledecky posed by Phelps’ side. While speaking of the Opening Ceremony, Michael Phelps said that he got the chills.

Last night during Opening Ceremony…just being part of Opening Ceremony for me I had hair sticking straight up from my arms…just the emotions the feelings being back at the Olympic Games…

Phelps further spoke about how important mental health has become and he’s happy to see so today’s athletes taking it seriously. He encouraged Team USA to keep their spirits high and “ring the cowbells” as hard as they can, as mental intimidation towards opponents is also a part of game strategy.
