Michael Porter Jr. pushes for another NBA championship with the Denver Nuggets amidst family issues.
Denver Nuggets star Michael Porter Jr.'s brother Jevon arrested for DUI, 3rd brother in legal trouble after Jontay and Coban
Michael Porter Jr. turned up some of his best performances in the 1st round of the playoffs for his Denver Nuggets. What is exemplary is that he delivered despite having to face the aftermath of his brother Jontay Porter getting a lifetime ban and Coban Porter going to prison. Now, his third brother Jevon Porter, has been arrested for driving under the influence, making an already tough situation, even worse.
As reported by Marc Sallinger of 9News, Missouri State Troopers arrested Jevon Porter in the wee hours of Saturday morning. He was stopped after he was found speeding. While issuing a ticket it was found that he was also driving under the influence of alcohol. He was charged and released after he was issued a summons to appear in court at a later date. This comes against the backdrop of severe family issues surrounding the Porter’s.
A few weeks ago, Jontay Porter, who was playing for the Toronto Raptors, was handed a lifetime ban by the NBA for participating in betting. In the same week, Coban Porter was sentenced to 6+2 years in prison, for killing a woman while driving drunk.
Now this arrest just adds to the family woes for the NBA Champion. With Jontay and Coban Porter not in a good space, the family needs the big brother’s support. Not a good scenario when considering Michael Porter Jr. is focused on helping his Denver Nuggets squad retain the championship.
Michael Porter Jr. has to avoid distractions to win another NBA title
To perform his duties as a professional basketball player, Michael Porter Jr. will have to keep a healthy balance between his family and basketball life. He will have to be at his best as his Nuggets move on to the 2nd round of the playoffs. Only then can they defeat the hot streaking Minnesota Timberwolves.
The 1st round playoff series was the best of his career. The Nuggets would need all of that and more. If they are to counter their weak bench and move to the Conference Finals. Michael Porter Jr. will have to stand up over all the family problems and get the job done.
