IPL 2021: Michael Vaughan predicts Mumbai Indians as the winner of the tournament; Wasim Jaffer reacts

The 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to begin on the 9th of April and it will once again see all eight franchises in the tournament starting from square one in their quest to get their hands on the coveted trophy. It is quite a difficult job merely looking at the squads to predict who the winner might be but defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) seem like they might as well be favorites.
The side has won two consecutive tournaments in a row and would want to make it a ‘three-peat’. Their squad boasts of excellent balance and depth, having got all bases covered. Having made some smart buys like those of Adam Milne, James Neesham, Marco Jansen and Piyush Chawla, they would fancy their chances of solidifying their status as the most successful side in the tournament’s history.
Michael Vaughan predicts the winner of IPL 2021

Former England captain Michael Vaughan has become quite a popular figure on social media especially with the Indian fans due to his tweets and predictions which have gone wrong more often than not. He was asked by Indians yet again to predict the result of IPL 2021 and the Englishman obliged.
Vaughan said, “Early #IPL2021 prediction … @mipaltan will win it … if by some bizarre loss of form then @SunRisers will win it … (sic)” The tweet has now gone viral with most fans agreeing to Vaughan’s assessment. However, some have jokingly stated that since Vaughan has stated that MI would win the title, they would not do so.
Meanwhile, former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer has responded to the tweet with a hilarious meme concurring to the aforesaid latter opinion.
IPL 2021 begins on the 9th of April with MI facing Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai.
