“Disgrace” – Michael Vaughan slams BCCI for not handing an A+ contract for Ravindra Jadeja
The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) announcement of the annual player contracts two days ago has come under criticism from Michael Vaughan. The former England captain has stated that Ravindra Jadeja who is one of the most valuable assets for India must have been given the top most contract of A+ which was given only to skipper Virat Kohli, vice-captain Rohit Sharma and ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah.
The Indian team has been in stupendous form as of late as it has tasted spectacular successes. Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic, India have been on song winning the last five series in a row across all three formats. Further, they retained the Test mace comfortably while also qualifying for the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) which will be played against New Zealand in June.
Michael Vaughan reacts to Ravindra Jadeja’s omission from A+ contracts
Cricbuzz had written an article yesterday about how Ravindra Jadeja was initially considered to be up for a promotion to the A+ contract list before the plan was dropped. They had made a tweet saying, “Ravindra Jadeja, who is a regular for India across all formats, was considered for promotion in BCCI’s central contract list but inexplicably missed out.”
Michael Vaughan who is among the panel of experts for Cricbuzz replied to the tweet saying, “Disgrace… he should be on a the biggest behind Virat … (sic)” This tweet from Vaughan and Cricbuzz has been well-received by Indian fans with a majority of those agreeing that Jadeja was indeed one of India’s best players at the moment who also happens to play all three formats.
