India vs England 2021: “We don’t know how bad Hardik Pandya’s body is” – Michael Vaughan suggests changes for India for third ODI

With the first two ODIs leaving things all square between India and England, all eyes will be on the series-decider that takes place today in Pune. In the first ODI, India came back from the dead in the second innings to spark an England collapse and win the encounter. In the second match however, England ensured their ‘all guns blazing’ approach did not falter by flattening the Indian bowlers.
With the third ODI set to take place today, India would aim at making changes to their team combination and especially their bowling attack which was completely dominated. Former England captain Michael Vaughan has now come forward and suggested two changes to make to the side to improve both their batting approach and the bowling attack.
Michael Vaughan speaks on both teams’ combinations
Speaking to Cricbuzz about what India can do, Vaughan said, “I guess it depends on how much the teams put on this one game and a series victory. Are they that desperate for the team to win that they may risk Hardik Pandya bowling? We don’t know how bad his body is right now. I’d bring in Natarajan, the left-armer. Washington Sundar for [Kuldeep] Yadav as well so you pack your batting and you can go a bit harder at the top.”
Moving on to England’s combination, “Mark Wood may get a mention if his body is fine. He may come in for Tom Curran. I thought Reece Topley was very good. They would have wanted to give Parkinson a go but I don’t know if they’ll thrown him in for a game. It depends how much importance they put on this one-off decider,” Vaughan said.
“If it’s about developing the team for two years’ time then I would throw him in. ‘Rashid is one of the players that England will find very difficult to replace. He’s an unbelievable performer so they need to find games for Parkinson or another leg-spinner just in case Rashid doesn’t make it to the next [50-over] World Cup,” he added.
The third ODI begins today at 1:30 PM IST.
