Despite winning the NFL MVP award twice, there remains skepticism about Lamar Jackson’s ability to win the Super Bowl. However, Michael Vick– who is credited to have revolutionized the entire NFL with his rushing skills, reflected immense confidence in Jackson to ace the rushing records this season.
With an 8-5 record (so far) this season, the Baltimore Ravens are aiming for the Vince Lombardi Trophy while working on consistency in the remaining season. Except for the AFC championship game of last season, quarterback Jackson has been a dynamic playmaker, especially for the explosive plays that ranks the Ravens among the top offenses of the league.
While talking about Jackson’s trajectory this season, the four-time Pro Bowler made a bold prediction about him. He claimed that the two-time MVP would ‘shatter’ the most rushing yards recorded by a quarterback in his career.
The legend isn’t entirely out of bounds with his prediction as he is merely 173 yards away from surpassing the elite 6,109 rushing record. Widely considered as a dual-threat quarterback, Jackson has posted 5,936 rushing yards in his career since 2019.
Lamar Jackson balancing rushing prowess with passing precision
After acquiring a two-time Heisman Trophy winner in 2018, the Ravens signal-caller has led the league in rushing consecutively for five years. As he explored the league, his passing game strengthened into one of his biggest prowess, making his case for the dual-threat quarterback bulletproof.
Jackson is also known for his dynamic movement ability where he can still find open targets while also extending plays in the meantime. He is well-reflected the most instinctive passer ability along with the best making signal-caller.
With recording 29 touchdowns to merely three interceptions, Jackson has also included his name in the MVP conversation for another year. He has the third-best odds at winning the prominent award, preceded by the Philadelphia Eagles’ Saquon Barkley and Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen as favorite.
