West Ham United star Michail Antonio breaks silence in EMOTIONAL message after horrific accident left player in hospital bed

Michail Antonio had a lucky escape last month after he was cut out of the wreckage of his own car following a terrible accident. His Ferrari, worth £260,000, copped severe damage in the crash, which pushed him from the driver’s seat to the backseat. Emergency workers worked tirelessly to extricate him from the crash scene.

The injuries sustained by Michail Antonio needed surgery, and he was rushed to the hospital. In a statement later, West Ham confirmed that their star striker was stable. As reports go, he might be sidelined for a year despite being discharged from the hospital on December 31^st. Following his release, Antonio took to his Instagram and posted a note of gratitude.

Every year around this time, I’m asked what I’m grateful for, and every year I’ve struggled to find the right words. But this year, I know exactly what I’m grateful for: being alive. I want to take a moment to acknowledge something I’ve come to realise – I’ve spent so many years taking life for granted. I made plans for the next day, the next year, always assuming tomorrow was guaranteed. I’ve seen close friends pass away, witnessed others face near-death experiences, and even then, I didn’t fully grasp just how precious life is.

In the wake of his accident, Antonio’s teammates poured in unceasing love for the big man. During warm-ups, they donned shirts that had Antonio’s name written on them. The club later auctioned the shirts, raising a staggering £60,000, which was donated to the NHS and the Air Ambulance UK, realizing their roles during times of emergency.

If Antonio’s accident wasn’t a blow strong enough for West Ham to deal with, to add to their woes, their captain, Jarrod Bowen, is going to be sidelined for a while too. Bowen suffered the fracture during West Ham’s defeat at the hands of league leaders Liverpool.

The injury to his left foot, picked up in the first half at London Stadium, will sideline the Hammers captain heading into the New Year.
West Ham wrote in an official statement

Bowen has been an instrumental force for West Ham in the ongoing season, scoring six goals across all competitions. Bowen took to social media and said that he did try to continue playing despite the injury. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the ability to proceed any further. Despite the growing list of woes, Antonio’s discharge from the hospital will serve as a massive reprieve for the Hammers.
