When Jim Harbaugh left the Michigan Wolverines’ football program, the University felt Sherrone Moore would bring stability after the cheating scandal saw their reputation blown to bits.

Their 2023 college football championship was supposed to bring joy to Wolverines football, but instead, the sign-stealing scandal left Moore with a lot of pressure to steer them away from the negative narratives.

Harbaugh moved back to the NFL and has since kept a low profile as he tries to rebuild the Los Angeles Chargers into a playoff-caliber team. On the other hand, his understudy has been mildly successful, finishing his first season at the helm with an 8-5 record.

This season, with top recruit Bryce Underwood leading the charge, Sherrone Moore led the Wolves to a 9-3 record. They did, however, lose embarrassingly to the defending champion Ohio State Buckeyes last week, but were still on their way to play in the Citrus Bowl.

When they do, it will not be the 39-year-old who will be leading his players, after the University of Michigan fired him earlier, with ’cause’.

That cause turned out to be an ‘inappropriate relationship’ with a staff member. The University mentioned in its statement that they were not going to tolerate this behavior as it is a ‘clear violation of University policy.’

Fans lose as Sherrone Moore exits after another Michigan scandal

When the first news dropped about Sherrone Moore‘s dismissal, fans felt it was because the Wolves ended their streak of wins against Ohio State.

Then, when it was revealed that he was fired for having an inappropriate relationship with a staff member, fans could not believe another scandal would hit the Wolverines in a matter of two years.

They believe this proves that college coaches have this notion that they can get away with anything, and that the University should also be held accountable for its failure to keep such things in check. Examples of such reactions are below:

Fans felt Sherrone Moore saw his dream job fall into his lap after Jim Harbaugh left for the NFL. The Michigan Wolverines program is a CFP heavyweight, meaning his job as a recruiter and coach was easier than what other programs faced.

Keep winning games, and he would have made generational wealth while staying in his job for a very long time. For him to throw it all away for an inappropriate relationship was dumbfounding to fans.

Sherrone Moore arrested hours after being fired

Hours after being fired from his job as head coach of the Michigan Wolverines, it seems Sherrone Moore’s day went from bad to worse, as reported by ESPN’s Dan Wetzel.

Ex-Michigan coach Sherrone Moore was detained by police in Saline, Mich. this evening and turned over to police in Pittsfield Township for investigation into potential charges.

Dan Wetzel revealed

The exact nature of the charges has not been revealed, but it must have been serious enough for police to get involved and then arrest the father of three.

Sherrone Moore married Kelli Lenz back in 2015, who has been a pillar of support for her husband. It is unclear if this was a domestic incident, but now, the just-fired head coach is hoping someone bails him out of Washtenaw (Michigan) County jail.
