Mick Schumacher wins the F2 Title after a thrilling season finale

Mick Schumacher, the son of seven time F1 World champion, Micahel Schumacher clinched the F2 title after a thrilling end to the season at the Sakhir Grand Prix. Mick is now making a move to F1 in 2021 where he will drive for Haas. Despite finising 18th in the final race of the season in Bahrain, Mick took the title, 14 points clear of his the second placed Brion, Callum Ilott.
Jehan Daruvala won his first race in his F2 career after Mick Schumacher had a flat-spotted tyre on the first lap itself. Nikita Mazepin, future team mate of Mick at Haas next year, finished fifth in the title race. Schumacher who finished 18th on Sunday, had matters out of his own hands as he relied on other drivers to finish above Ilott. The Brit who needed to finish second to remain in the title hunt, finished the race on the tenth place.

Mick Schumacher admitted that he will take some time to process his victory. “I don’t really understand I am champion yet.”It would sound a lot better if we did a good race today. Nevertheless, we are champions and people will forget this race and remember the good times this year,” said Mick.
Earlier last week, Mick Schumacher realized his childhood dream as he signed to drive for the F1 team, Haas in 2021. His compatriot will be the Russian, Nikita Mazepin who is the son of a Russian billionaire. The Haas team’s drivers for the current season are Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen who have both been replaced for the next season.
