Miguel Rojas will go down as a legend in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ folklore following his heroics in Game 7. The veteran smashed a massive game-tying home run for his team in the top of the 9th inning with one out. After the home run, he received a warm message from Shohei Ohtani.
The infielder stepped up to bat in the 9th inning while his team was trailing the game 4-3. Rojas, who made his way back into the team in Game 6, had a first hit in over a month earlier in Game 7.
After working a 3-2 count against Jeff Hoffman, the 36-year-old connected on an 86 mph fastball and sent the ball flying into left field to tie the game at 4-4.

Rojas was the No.9 hitter of the team. Had he been out in that situation, the Dodgers would have been down to their final out with Ohtani stepping up to the plate.
The two-way star ended up hitting a flyout on the very first pitch he saw and was the second out of the inning. In the bottom of the 9th inning, Rojas once again stole the show with his impressive fielding skills.
With the bases loaded for the Blue Jays, Daulton Varsho hit a grounder. Rojas stumbled a bit but managed to field it in time and made a perfect throw to get Isiah Kiner-Falefa out at home plate.
The Dodgers ended up winning the game 5-4 after taking the lead in the 11th inning through a solo home run from Will Smith. The two plays from Rojas in the 9th inning saved the season for the National League side and saw them repeat as champions.
In a recent podcast appearance alongside insider Chris Rose, the veteran revealed the message he got in the dugout when he got back. He claimed that Ohtani requested him to play 10 more years with him and not to retire.
I’m by the bat rack like laying my helmet, and Shohei came to me and say ‘Miggy, you can’t retire next year. You’re playing with me for 10 more years… I say, ‘Shohei, I’m old, and I don’t know if I can play for 10 more years, but I’ll play with you next year for sure.

Rojas etched his name in history books following that home run. He became the 1st player in MLB history to hit a game-tying home run in the ninth inning or later in Game 7 of the World Series.

Miguel Rojas claims Dodgers were unhappy with Drake trolling Shohei Ohtani after Game 5
After the Los Angeles Dodgers lost Game 5, musician Drake trolled Shohei Ohtani. The Canadian international put out two stories on his Instagram account and made fun of the two-way star. In an interview with TMZ, Miguel Rojas admitted that the team was not happy with this.

Drake, who is active on social media, would mock the Dodgers as they fell 3-2 in the series. With the Blue Jays just one win away, he took to his Instagram account to make his feelings known.
The first story featured the Japanese international from one of his photo shoots. He would write “One more!!!!!!!” in this story.
In the second story, he shared an image of Ohtani striking out against Trey Yesavage. The 3-time MLB MVP would fall down to one knee and lose his helmet while striking out against the rookie pitcher. Drake would take a swipe at Ohtani for this and wrote, “Savage already otw to the dugout boss lol.”

In the end, it was Rojas, Ohtani and the Dodgers who had the last laugh. The Dodgers won both Games 6 and 7 in Toronto to beat the Blue Jays and repeat as champions.
In an interview with TMZ, Rojas expressed that he and his teammates did not like the action of the popular rapper.
I try to stay humble and don’t talk too much, but I mean that doesn’t go unnoticed. When you kind of like disrespect a little bit the best player in the game, not understanding the quality of the person and what the guy has done for baseball… Shohei Ohtani, he’s been doing everything and anything for baseball… We all saw it right away. We weren’t happy for it, but we have to finish the game.
Miguel Rojas told TMZ
Kike Hernandez would also troll Drake after their win. During the victory parade at Dodger Stadium on Monday, the outfielder would make references to the musician and trolled him in front of the Dodgers fans.

Rojas is now a free agent. The 2-time World Series winner has officially revealed that he wants to play one more year with the team before retiring. It remains to be seen what his future holds now.
