Mikal Bridges and his teammates helped James Dolan have the last laugh after critics trolled the billionaire owner in the past.

When James Dolan instructed his New York Knicks’ top brass to assemble a championship-winning team, they brought in Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, and Karl-Anthony Towns.
When the point guard was signed in free agency, many felt the organization was continuing its trend of overpaying for players who had not proved their worth.
The same question marks were raised when the Knicks traded for Hart. OG Anunoby’s arrival was not as eyebrow-raising as the others, as many believed it was a straight swap. But when Mikal Bridges walked from Barclays Center, again the critics were at the door.
Some questioned whether the team had lost its marbles. Five first-round picks were excessive for any player in the league not named LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and a few others.
Now, that decision has come to fruition. The 29-year-old has not missed a game for the past three seasons, and kept his ironman streak alive when deploying his two-way ability to help the Knicks clinch the 2026 NBA championship.
In fact, most of his teammates were healthy, and some believed it was Bridges’ lead-by-example method that may have inspired them. However, as per the shooting guard, it was something else.
He brought n****s, saying 10 weeks. Don’t have no s**, lock in. N***s a savage.

This was Mikal Bridges confirming the rumors that Knicks owner Dolan had issued the team a 10-week ‘No S**’ rule that players had to abide by. That helped them stay focused and win the championship. That is why he labeled the billionaire a ‘savage’ for coming up with it.
NY Post gets its hands on James Dolan’s ‘no-s**’ request
Bridges went on IG Live a while after hoisting the Larry O’Brien trophy alongside his teammates. Once everyone caught wind of this, the New York Post made some calls and finally got their hands on the video where James Dolan said this:
I had this idea that maybe you should give up s** for the next 10 weeks. You don’t have to give up sex for the next 10 weeks. BUT, like the Spartans… they denied themselves, right? So that they can have an edge. Get the edge. Go home, talk to your wives, and tell them… Those concerns at home, they can’t come on the court.
James Dolan said
This means that the 71-year-old did indeed ask his players to abstain from intimacy with their respective partners. It was not a rule, per se. But he felt the players should do so if they are to focus on the postseason.

As per the Post, this ‘request’ took place during the April 3rd practice session. That means Dolan and the coaches were preparing the players for the playoffs even though they still had a few more games left in the regular season.
James Dolan promised Knicks players’ better halved championship rings
Professional athletes generally find it tough to hold themselves back when around good-looking women. There are countless tales of how players find themselves cheating just to cater to their needs.

Since the Knicks were on a mission, James Dolan placed a heavy request on his players. Then, he gave them a caveat, or rather, to their better halves.
WHEN we win the championship, we will get rings. And when we get rings, so will they. I will buy a ring for each one of your significant others, because their contribution is gonna be very important to this team winning.
NY Post quoted James Dolan
Now that the Knicks have achieved their goal, the father of six will have to instruct jewelers to create rings for the women who support his players.
