Mike Rodriguez shines again; Registers first round KO win over Marcin Prachnio in UFC Vegas 7

Mike Rodriguez definitely got the best of his late notice in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night at Vegas 7. He defeated Marcin Prachnio in less than three minutes in the first round of their bout.

Earlier Ovince Saint and Alonzo Menifield had to be pulled out from the card, moments before the show started. At the same time, Mike Rodriguez was brought in his place and he finished Prachnio in less than three minutes.

Rodriguez had suffered a loss and a no contest in his past two fight. Now, after finally getting a victory he expressed his happiness. Rodriguez said, “It feels good to be back in the winning column. It feels real good. More than anything, I’m glad I can still be here, doing what I love.”

In the initial moments of the fight, Prachnio tried to work from outside. He tagged Rodriguez with some hard leg kicks. But in return, Rodriguez closed the distance off and grappled on to Prachnio. It eventually ended in a clinch with series of punishing strikes.

Rodriguez pummelled Prachnio with knees on to the body. Prachnio tried to defend but Rodriguez immediately went to assualt his head with series of elbows.

In the same moments, Rodriguez cracked Prachnio with an another elbow which sent him crushing to the mat. Rodriguez followed him to the ground and landed another hard punch. Prachnio felt unconscious and referee called the fight off at 2:17 of the first round.

Rodriguez was aware from his past performances that he needed to do big on Saturday night and that’s what he did exactly. He capped off his night with a spectacular win via huge knockout. With this, he also leveled his UFC record to 2-2. Rodriguez had come into the UFC through Contender Series of Dana White.
