The Pittsburgh Steelers’ impressive two-game winning streak came to an end in Week 15 as they sustained a crushing loss at the hands of Jalen Hurts– Philadelphia Eagles. But in the post-game, when asked how the team intended to avoid such a 14-point loss, his response came rather blunt.
In the Week 15 game, when his team was struggling on the field, head coach Tomlin had a heated encounter with a referee, whom he was spotted saying, “Get the f**k away from me.” His demeanor appeared consistent as he gave a bit similar response to an ESPN reporter in the post-game press conference.
In what was a perfectly fair question, ESPN reporter Brooke Pryor asked the Steelers head coach how he plans to avoid letting a 14-point loss to a Super Bowl contender snowball into bigger issues as the postseason approaches.
It’s a loss. I mean, let’s not get dramatic.
Tomlin bluntly responded

While a single loss doesn’t overshadow the impressive season, the Steelers have had; it does highlight some offensive issues that could become problematic in the coming weeks.
With tough matchups against Super Bowl contenders such as the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs, and Cincinnati Bengals on the horizon, the stakes are high. If all three ended up in losses, there’s a fair chance that the Steelers may risk losing their position even in the Wild card race.
Rob Rang suggests Steelers should target Heisman runner-up Cam Ward
Acquiring Justin Fields and Russell Wilson this offseason was the best decision the Steelers made. However, since they signed only a one-year contract, the franchise is set to release them next offseason in March 2025, despite the success of this season. And in that case, they are expected to draft a potential franchise quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft.

NFL Draft analyst Rob Rang believes Pittsburgh’s head coach can find the solution to all his problems in Heisman Trophy runner-up, quarterback Cam Ward. He accumulated 155 touchdowns and 20 more rushing touchdowns during his time in Miami and is projected to be a first-round pick.
Additionally, the Steelers are also expected to draft three more offensive positions– running back, wide receiver, and offensive tackle, to strengthen the offense around the quarterback. As for the quality draft prospects, the Steelers have plenty of options, with several players being linked to the team as potential mid-to-late first-round picks.
