The global boxing clique is less than two months away from 58-year-old Mike Tyson gearing up to fight Jake Paul, who, subsequently, isn’t even half his age at 27. Like it or not, it’s happening. Tyson’s regressing health has meant he won’t be the same stone-handed HW icon against an improving Paul. But it can’t get any worse right? Many don’t want to see Tyson vs. Paul happen; however — even fewer would want a ‘stoned’ Tyson in the fight!

Former HW boxing champion ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson will return in November to throw hands against ‘Problem Child’ at AT&T Stadium in Dallas. His recent cross-country ulcer flare-up during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles already shook the bout off July. However, as a last hail mary, Tyson requested the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations to officially have it as a pro-sanction. Tyson appeared Monday night on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” His resolve on the matter has again run up alarm bells.

Tyson: Not really... [on smoking marijuana while he trains]
Kimmel: Will you be high when you fight Jake Paul?
Tyson: I’m gonna be so high off life, ...yeah. [audience laughs]
Kimmel: Will you be high on marijuana, as well?
Tyson: That’s a possibility, too...

The host’s request came as Tyson is well known for his involvement in the cannabis industry. In concord with PHCANN International, ‘Tyson 2.0’ is now a licensed distributor in the Euro market. Rumor mills also have him smoking in camps. Jake Paul (10-1, 7 KOs), meanwhile, has been making strides as an active pro boxer. He last blew past bare-knuckle brand face Mike Perry in an eight-round cruiserweight battle for DAZN pay-per-view.

Seemingly, sometimes it’s all marijuana since mushrooms aren’t just enough for the job. There’s just a little hiccup. Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations rulesets aren’t big fans of marijuana exemptions. Refer to Nate Diaz, who went through TDLR and Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) test pools. There’s no telling how serious he is in this, but Tyson has his ritualistic cannabis dip in his defense.

Baddest Man Mike Tyson says ‘weird personality’ helps him fight

Jake Paul and his efforts in crossover or even mainstream boxing have always been knee-deep in viral controversy. Paul has set up an org called ‘Boxing Bullies’ to help young people tackle bullying. This was the last instance where fans actually lauded his efforts. When his Anti Fund firm-led-investment in sports gambling firm Simplebet Inc. created ‘Most Valuable Promotions’ (MVP), it was a whole other thing.

Some do commend him for giving chances and platforms to boxing hopefuls. However, his stints in crossover boxing fall short as elder abuse on MMA washouts. Jake Paul and his Netflix-streamed Live boxing event are already been panned for harming the geriatric “Iron” man Tyson. It did not help when Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 career KOs) himself started falling sick.

Then came peculiar habits that far removed him from the “Baddest Man on the planet” attire. Consequently, one of those was his cannabis infatuation and smoking. However, Tyson has a defense mechanism in place.

I have a weird personality — I don’t think it’s weird though…Whatever I’m afraid to do, I do it. That’s how it is. I was afraid of the Roy [Jones Jr.] fight. I was 100 pounds overweight, I was however old, 54, 53, and I said ‘Let’s do it.’ Anything I’m afraid of, I confront it. That’s my personality. Right now, I’m scared to death...f I didn't have these feelings, I wouldn't go into this fight. I have to have these feelings to fight. Without them, I would never go in the ring.
Mike Tyson to Sean Hannity for FOX News

Tyson believes adversity has always catapulted him to success. However, at the tail end of his performing years, this one is a bit different. Tyson’s ‘personality’, per the boxer, needs to feel the feels and the pressure mounting on to him even consider fighting. Although not in a doctrine, a puff supposedly could help.

As he gets closer to it, Mike Tyson says he calms down; the ferocity of the old comes out again. However, it’s been a while since he fought an 8-round bout vs. Kevin McBride in 2005 and retired. Come November, the world will need a lot of boost to hang on the edge of their seat. Because right now, it’s anyone’s game.
